Florida becomes the center of the car collecting world in mid-March, and this year's final auction consignment lists are impressive.

Headlining Gooding's Amelia Island sale on March 9 are a 1960 Chevrolet Corvette "Race Rat," driven to a 1st in class at the 1960 12 Hours of Sebring (Gooding estimate: $450k-$550k), and an unrestored 1948 Tucker 48 ($950k-$1.3m). View the online catalog here.

RM AuctionsRM's Amelia Island sale takes place the next day, March 10. Among the star cars are a 1941 Chrysler Newport Dual Cowl Phaeton—the actual 1941 Indy 500 pace car—(RM estimate:$1.5m-$2m) and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air fuel-injected convertible ($100k-$140k). View the online catalog here.

The following weekend, muscle reigns supreme at Auctions America by RM's annual Fort Lauderdale sale. Notable lots include a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 ($80k-$100k), a 1958 Dodge Coronet Auctions America by RMSuper D-500 convertible ($110k-$130k) and a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 originally built for a FoMoCo executive ($75k-$100k).
