The Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance returns for its 43rd year on Sunday, July 19, on the historic, tree-shaded campus of Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. Keith Martin and Donald Osborne return as co-emcees. Alex Martin-Banzer will serve as a concours judge. World’s Largest Bubbletop Custom on Offer at Auctions America California

A 1954 Ford custom known as the “Beatnik Bubbletop” crosses the block this weekend at Auctions America California. The sale runs July 17–18 in Santa Monica. Gary “Chopit” Fioto created the bubbletop custom (Auctions America estimate: $150k–$250k). Other cool classics include a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air fuel-injected convertible, just 121 miles since frame-off restoration ($110k–$150k); a 1966 Shelby GT350 H, fully restored and now fitted with a period-correct Paxton Supercharger ($140k–$180k); and a highly optioned 1957 Ford F-code Supercharged Thunderbird ($175k–$250k).

Russo and Steele Newport Beach Grows 71% to More Than $7.2m

Preliminary numbers from Russo and Steele’s June 5–7 Newport Beach auction indicate more than $7.2m in sales — an increase of 71% and nearly $3m over 2014’s event totals. Notable sales include a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT at $840,000, a 2006 Ford GT at $337,700, a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette custom at $159,500, and a 1966 Shelby GT350 H at $137,500.
