Jim’s Blog: The One The Got Away

We’re wrapping up ACC #39 this week, but there’s still time to submit responses to our Readers’ Forum question. What car should you have kept?

This builds off a blog I wrote a few weeks ago — I’d like to know what car or cars you’ve owned in the past that you wish you still had. Maybe you sold that classic to pay a bill, or to buy something different, or just because you thought you were done with it. What might have sounded like a good idea at the time can haunt you later. What did you sell, why did you sell it and would you buy it back today?

Send a note to comments@americancarcollector.com, along with any photos you have of the car in question, by 5 p.m. PST, Wednesday, April 5, and look for your comments in the next issue of ACC!

  1. I’ve had a few, ’69 Mustang Mach 1 428 CJ, ’57 Thunderbird, ’68 Mercury Cougar 289 4-speed, ’68 Mustang GT convertible. However, the one I miss the most was a ’65 Mustang GT 4-speed fastback (sport roof?) that was taken from me by a drunk driver. I came out unscathed but the car was totaled. He hit me so hard the horn ring and several of the “Styled Steel Wheels” center caps popped off. I guess you miss the ones you never got board with before they were gone, kinda’ like girlfriends.
