The Portland Swap Meet is the Northwest car guy’s kickoff to the car season. Even if it’s raining sideways, like it was this year.

But for thousands of car-crazy parts chasers, the rain didn’t matter. Who’s afraid of a little rain when those vintage parts you’re hunting are just waiting for you to find them?

The meet, which is always in April, took over the Portland Expo Center from April 7 through April 9, sprawling out through all the buildings and out into the extended parking lots. Most of the ACC staff was there, and I brought my camera to shoot some of the best stuff I could find. Check out my photos below.

ACC’s Brian Baker isn’t afraid of getting wet in his hunt for parts.

Is that a gear box?

If you were looking for vintage flathead parts, Expo had you covered.

Rusty gold, or just rusty?

Dig the tube header and the velocity stack on this Chevy stove bolt.

You know the weather’s rough when you have to use L89 parts to hold down your tent.
