Arizona Auction Week is creeping closer and the premium consignments continue to pour in for Barrett-Jackson’s massive Scottsdale auction running from January 11 to 19. The latest addition is a raucous and rare 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 COPO coupe , that will be sold without reserve.
This Hugger Orange example is number 59 of the 69 ZL1 COPO Camaros produced for 1969 and has a laundry list of desirable features. The most important of which is the matching-numbers all-aluminum 427 V8 with open-chamber cylinder heads. Behind the monstrous engine is a M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission and a 4.10 posi-traction rear axle. It also has power disc brakes, rides on a special suspension and is equipped with an NC8 chambered exhaust, the only ZL1 to be ordered with this feature.
Additionally, this Pony Car includes the Z21-style trim option, a special ducted hood and sports white-letter tires. Inside is a clean black interior with an AM radio.
The no reserve ’69 Camaro ZL1 COPO is being sold with extensive documentation including a copy of the original window sticker and the complete owner’s history.
